Clara

Designer

How many people can say they were a driver for the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile for a year, hotdogging across 22,000 miles through 33 states? Clara can. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves.

Clara has been a creative person since the day she could hold a crayon. If she had a sketchbook in her hand, she was a happy camper. Growing up in Portland, Oregon, she soaked up inspiration from the outdoors and the city’s creative ethos. Today, Clara still recharges creatively with activities involving fresh air—hiking, biking, kayaking. If it’s outside, she’s all in.

After graduating from Boise State with a BFA in graphic design, she took that unusual job piloting the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. Seeing the country through the windshield of a four-wheeled-frank gave her a lifetime of memories, niche insight into experiential marketing, and a repertoire of hot dog puns that she can “mustard” up at a moment’s notice.

While she has since hung up her brand-mobile keys, she now lives in Boise, where you can find her hiking with her cat, drinking craft espresso, and designing for Duft Watterson. She volunteers as a designer and weekend barista for the Art Room—a coffee shop and nonprofit pottery center that offers free classes with the mission of sparking a generation that values creation over consumption. She also recently joined a curling team. (yes, curling.)

Clara is passionate about the power of communication through marketing, and its ability to bring people together—whether it’s a beautifully designed brand, or a 7-ton hotdog rolling down the road.
