‘Sup Andy?

Montana has lots of roads. Many of them are gorgeous back roads. It’s why the Montana Department of Transportation is so important. Aside from building and maintaining roads, they save lives with positive driving campaigns. And that’s where DW comes in.

THE ASK

When Andy hit the road, the numbers followed. By leaning into humor and high-energy content, we turned 65.4 million impressions into 7.3 million meaningful actions. We outpaced platform standards at every turn: YouTube view rates soared 60% above average, and our Meta campaigns delivered a highly efficient $0.03 cost per engagement. On the big screen, our storytelling held firm, with 97% of streaming TV viewers watching Andy’s journey from start to finish.

What we did

Since our target audience was largely young men, we knew we needed to connect with them in an easy way that entertained them, and with the things they’re interested in, like humor and furry friends.

Enter Andy, the passenger dog (and MDT mascot) who saves lives by curtailing bad driving decisions, even if he has to throw a few truth bombs to get the job done. He’s featured in four videos and various other marketing mediums to further our positive norming messaging and encourage good driving behaviors.
